Seiko’s identity system changed three times, so a “valid name” means a different field in each era: the family + case code (J-code) for 1956–65, the built caliber-case reference (e.g. 5606-7000) for 1966–74, and the flat sales code (e.g. HNK804) for 1975–98. This shows how many distinct models in each era already carry that name — independent of whether a collection is assigned yet.
